All Community Programs gift a free “bundle of books” to babies up to 36 months of age along with our Parent Guide that contains tips for parents about reading to their children and the importance of making reading a part their family’s daily routine. A gift of age-appropriate books is provided to siblings through age 7.
The bundles are personally delivered by Budding Readers volunteers who are mostly current or retired educators. To date, more than 2,400 “bundles of books” have been delivered to families in the eight school district communities served by Budding Readers.
In addition, each UPK, Kindergarten and First Grade student is gifted a new book to take home three times during each school year. In addition, each of their teachers is gifted a pack of 8 books to use in their classroom.
