The Budding Readers Program began serving families in the Marcus Whitman school district community in 2012. More than 205 “bundles” have been delivered to Marcus Whitman families!
Babies, up to 36 months of age in the Marcus Whitman School District can receive a free “bundle of books” along with our Parent Guide, which contains tips about reading to babies and young children. Age-appropriate books for siblings through age 7 are also provided. Look for fliers around town, and at the Gorham Free Library.
Budding Readers also provides a new book annually for each entering UPK and Kindergarten student in the Marcus Whitman district.
The Marcus Whitman Budding Readers Program is currently coordinated by Ruth Freier, Director of the Gorham Free Library.
