The Victor Community Program began in 2017 and has been modeled after our successful Canandaigua Program.
Both programs work in partnership with the Finger Lakes WIC (Women, Infants & Children) office in Canandaigua. WIC families who live in the Victor School District and have babies under 36 months of age can receive a free “bundle of books” and our Parent Guide, which contains tips for reading to babies and young children. A gift of age-appropriate books for siblings through age 7 is also provided. Registration cards are available at the WIC office so that parents can request a bundle of books. To date, more than 169 bundles of books have been delivered.

In addition, any Victor or Farmington family attending birthing classes at Thompson Hospital receives a bundle of books from Budding Readers.

Budding Readers annually provides a new book for each UPK student in Victor.

The Victor program is anchored by two retired educators from Victor: Marilyn DeLucia and Nancy Johnstone.
