All Community Programs gift a free “bundle of books” to babies up to 36 months of age along with our Parent Guide that contains tips for parents about reading to their children and the importance of making reading a part their family’s daily routine. In addition, a gift of age-appropriate books is provided to siblings through age 7. The bundles are personally delivered by Budding Readers volunteers who are mostly current or retired educators. To date, more than 1,760 “bundles of books” have been delivered to families in the eight school district communities served by Budding Readers.
*The Budding Readers programs in Canandaigua and Victor school district communities work through our partnership with the Finger Lakes WIC (Women, Infants & Children) Program to provide “bundles of books” to WIC families who live in the Canandaigua and Victor School Districts and have babies under 36 months of age. Books are also provided for siblings through age 7. Families living in Canandaigua and Victor school districts may also receive bundles of books if they participate in the birthing classes at Thompson Hospital.
