Saint’s Place is a volunteer non-profit organization that provides household goods, clothing and educational assistance to legal refugees of all races and creeds who settle in the Rochester, NY area as well as to other local poor and needy in the Rochester Community. In 2024 Saint’s Place anticipates welcoming over 1,500 newly arrived refugees! Many are families with children. In a letter thanking Budding Readers for the many children’s books that we regularly donate, it was said that, “Refugee children are so happy to receive school supplies and books and to be prepared for school. After years of transition, often with no regular schooling, they appreciate being able to go to school and obtain an education. Books are a wonderful way to make that transition. Thank you so much.”
Budding Readers has been working with Saint’s Place for a number of years and is pleased to provide 1,000 books annually to assist both the children and the parents with the process of learning English.
