Elizabeth Mosher brought Budding Readers to the Honeoye community in 2009. The Honeoye Program is now coordinated by Rhonda Parrish and Elizabeth Mosher. Rhonda is a retired teacher from the Rochester School for the Deaf, while Elizabeth is a retired teacher from the Bloomfield School District.

Babies, up to 36 months of age who live in the Honeoye School District, can receive a free bundle of books and our Parent Guide, which contains tips for reading to babies and young children. In addition, age-appropriate books are provided for siblings through age 7.

Families who have received a bundle of books for their babies are also sent a coupon twice a year (up to age 5). They can bring the coupon to the Honeoye Public Library or Honeoye Elementary School and select a new free book.

Budding Readers gifts new books three times each year for each UPK, Kindergarten and First Grade student at Honeoye Elementary, as well as to students at the Honeoye Cooperative Nursery School. In addition, each of their teachers receives a pack of eight books to use in their classroom.
